Ministry
Ministry, in its various shapes and sizes, means to serve. Serving in ministry allows the Christian an opportunity to serve Jesus Christ. By serving in ministry, we minister to God Himself, and to other people created in His image. In the process, we exercise our Spiritual gifts for His glory.
Serving is a critical way to develop strong Christian relationships and to put what we are taught from the Word into action!
We pray that as you learn more about our ministries, the Holy Spirit will lead you to find both the help that you need and inspire you to serve Him with the gifts and talents that He has supplied!
All of the Ministries of First Christian Assembly are dedicated to winning, building, and sending the body of Christ.
Please see our ministries below;
Bible Studies and Sunday School:
Adult Sunday School – 9:45 Am – Join us for coffee, juice, bagels and more importantly an in- depth study of the Word- Meets in the Fellowship Hall
Children’s Sunday School – For ages 3 to 12. Age appropriate study that takes place each Sunday after the Musical portion of our Worship Service
Tuesday Evening Worship Service and Bible Study – 6:30 PM -A blessed evening of Prayer, Worship and Verse by Verse study of the Word of God
Thursday Evening small group Bible Study – 7:00 PM meets at The Philadelphia Access Center (Directly across from FCA-1832 South 11th St)- The smaller setting allows us to “dig deep” into the Holy Scriptures
Men and Women’s Fellowship
FCA has active Men and Women’s Fellowships that meet to encourage edification among
the Body of Christ in a fun and friendly environment. See calendar for information
regarding these meetings.
Prayer - “We know not what prayer cannot do!” (Spurgeon)
While prayer is incorporated into all of our meetings, we set aside certain times strictly for the purpose of
corporate prayer.
Tuesday Evening – 6:30 PM – Prior to the Worship Service and Bible Study – Meets in the Church Sanctuary
Thursday Evening – 6:00 PM – Prior to Bible Study – Meets at the Philadelphia Access Center
Support Groups
Stepping Stones – Stepping Stones is a Christ-centered support and recovery group for men and women
whose lives have been impacted by the addiction of a love one.
Christian Families in Recovery - When addiction hits a family its damage can be severe. Just as a hurricane-force storm devastates a physical
home, the storm of addiction can bring destruction to everyone involved. Christian Families in Recovery will help all those affected take a deeper look at the nature of addiction and recovery from a Christ-centered perspective.
Held Monday Evenings @ 7pm starting on March 14th at Philadelphia Access Center
Both of our support group meetings provide loving support and fellowship, confidential sharing,
accountability and intercessory prayer within a Biblical 12 step model of recovery. Principles of
recovery united to the truths of God's Word foster spiritual growth and effective and lasting
change in our lives.
Philadelphia Access Center
With its mission of “Revealing Christ through Compassionate Service”, The Philadelphia Access Center is the Cornerstone of the Compassion Ministries of First Christian Assembly.
The Access Center exists to help individuals and families in need and serves both the Body of Christ as well as the Community at large.
